In 1998, the opening of the first multiplex theatre in Korea at Gangbyun changed the landscape of the Korean film and retail industry. CJ CGV played a pivotal role in restructuring the movie business.CGV now pursues global expansion as it constructs a framework for global culture and a corresponding entertainment platform.
In 2006 CGV opened its first international development in Shanghai, China, now recognized locally as a culturally prominent site. In 2008, CJ CGV is scheduled to open a second theatre in Shanghai, and its first site in Los Angeles, California, CGV Madang, which will provide Korean media content to the local community.
Developing invisible potential is our company's strength.
