CJ Olive Networks’ health and beauty store Olive Young launched its first global online mall Monday, as part of its efforts to strengthen its global business and promote K-beauty products. The opening of its online mall targeting foreign shoppers in some 150 countries follows rapidly growing overseas demand for K-beauty products. Olive Young will operate its global e-commerce platform based on its focus to offer various kinds of trendy, affordable K-beauty products, selling some 1,000 products from 130 brands including skin care products, hair and body products, beauty tools and more.
CJ Logistics, an arm of Seoul-based food and entertainment conglomerate CJ Group, is acquiring Illinois-based DSC Logistics to expand its presence in the US. The Investors reported that CJ Logistics will pay 231.4 billion won ($216 million) to purchase 90 percent stake in the US firm. For CJ Logistics, formerly CJ Korea Express, the deal marks its first acquisition in the Americas where it operates 15 logistics centers in the US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.
CJ Logistics expects great synergy from the marriage that will combine its renowned logistics center designing capability backed by its unique technology, engineering, system and solution (TES) and CJ E&C’s expertise in building distribution centers, which would help it establish more advanced infrastructure and upgrade its logistics services.
