Korean Lifestyle and Entertainment Juggernaut Launches Startup Competition with $1 Million Purse

Up to Ten Finalists will be Invited by CJ America to the World’s Largest Korean Culture Festival in Los Angeles in August to Compete in Front of a Panel of Judges

Los Angeles, CA (June 12, 2018) – This summer, CJ America will conduct their inaugural CJ Startup Challenge with a total investment of up to $1 Million in one or more startups. The new program intends to identify the most promising startups that align with CJ’s vision of helping consumers live “Convenient”, “Healthy” and “Happy” lives. Participating startups should be early stage companies with a valuation under $50 Million, as of its most recent funding round.

Up to ten program finalists will be invited to KCON 2018 in Los Angeles to exhibit their products and/or services in front of tens of thousands of festival attendees. Finalists will then have the opportunity to pitch their vision to the judging panel. At the conclusion of the challenge, CJ America will invite one or more of the program finalists to discuss a potential investment by CJ America of up to $1 million.

Along with an investment, winner(s) of the CJ Startup Challenge will have access to CJ’s global footprint in food, restaurants, retail, media, and more.
