ScreenX Opens in Regal Atlantic Station with Panoramic 270-Degree Format

Regal Atlantic Station late last week opened a ScreenX auditorium, the movie theatre's latest specialty screen joining IMAX, RPX, and Regal VIP experiences. Created by CJ 4DPLEX, the screen offers a panoramic, 270-degree cinema environment that projects films on three walls of the auditorium; the first of its kind in Atlanta.With the opening at Regal Atlantic Station, ScreenX has eight locations domestically and 155 in total across 12 countries.

With Automation, Korean Dumplings Go Global

South Korea's largest food company is making a multimillion-dollar bet on "mandu," developing its own machines to automate the normally labor-intensive production of the Korean dumpling and building factories around the world. The nearly 4-year-old effort is an example of how technology is transforming the food industry, in this case making over the image of frozen dumplings as a cheap and unhealthy product made by small companies. CJ recently opened a factory in New Jersey, its third in the U.S., and has expanded production lines in China and snapped up local companies in Vietnam and Russia.

CJ Cheiljedang Eyes Expanding Exports of Traditional Korean Sauces

CJ Cheiljedang Corp., South Korea's leading processed food-maker, is pushing to expand exports of traditional Korean sauces to fast growing halal and other overseas markets. The latest research on halal gochujang is part of a broader global drive pushed by the food giant. The company expects the Korean traditional sauces to gain further recognition overseas down the road as they can be applied in various dishes from soups to fried foods. By country, the United States was the biggest importer of South Korean traditional sauces, accounting for 29.9 percent of the total overseas sales.
