Its broad choices and sweet tastes have contributed to its success. Its U.S. operation, the first overseas business to post profits in 2018, has stayed in the black for the last four years.

Korea’s CJ ENM Buying Stake in Hyperreal, Developer of Digital Humans

CJ ENM, one of the companies leading the Korean entertainment wave, has acquired a minority equity stake in U.S.-based metaverse firm Hyperreal Digital. The new investment was made by CJ ENM to expand its digital related business sectors related to the metaverse, non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and other tools. It is particularly interested in Hyperreal’s high fidelity digital humans.

CJ BIO, the global leader in fermentation capacity with world-scale businesses in both animal and human nutrition, is using this new facility to enter the biomaterials sector with the goal of creating opportunities to reduce the impact of manufactured plastics on global waste streams and the environment.

Americans to get their first taste of multi-grain Hetbahn

ollowing the overseas success of Bibigo dumplings, CJ CheilJedang is trying to get Americans hooked on Hetbahn, its wildly popular microwave rice. The versions for the U.S. market are multi-grain: a mix of brown and jasmine rice, of red and wild rice, of brown rice and quinoa and another of brown, red and wild rice. The products will only be exported to the United States and are seasoned with salt and oil to appeal to American tastes.
