K.A.R.D AND WANNA ONE ADDED TO KCON 2017 LOS ANGELES LINEUP

The upcoming Los Angeles date is quickly becoming a must-attend event with the addition of two exciting and unique new acts. Co-ed quartet K.A.R.D and reality singing competition stars Wanna One will all join the massive Korean-culture festival in August. Alongside at least one more still-to-be-revealed act coming for the LA date before tickets go on sale on July 14, the groups will meet attendees and take the stage at the famous Staples Center.

CJ Entertainment reveals ‘The Battleship Island' will debut in North America and Canada

“The Battleship Island” is currently the most-anticipated K-movie in 2017. The movie will be released in South Korea on July 26. Fortunately, North American Hallyu fans will be able to watch the movie too as it will debut in the U.S. and Canada on August 4 in over 40 cities. The movie received critical acclaims at the Cannes Film Festival screening last month. It was so popular that it was pre-sold to 113 territories worldwide.

SEVENTEEN, COSMIC GIRLS & HEIZE JOIN KCON 2017 LA LINEUP

After the New York edition of KCON 2017 USA blew minds this past weekend, the Los Angeles date is reminding fans how it’s also a must-attend by adding 27 individual stars to its lineup. 13-member boy band Seventeen, 13-member girl group Cosmic Girls and solo star Heize are all joining the massive Korean-culture festival this summer. Alongside a slate of still-to-be-revealed acts coming for the LA date, the singers will meet KCONers and take the stage at the famous Staples Center. Fans can get tickets as early as July 7 so expect loads of exciting artist announcements until then.

CJ Bibigo Dumpling Extolled as Good Example of Korea-US FTA

CJ Cheiljedang’s “Bibigo Dumpling” was introduced and praised as a successful example of the Korea-US FTA at the “Korea-US Business Summit” held at the American Chamber of Commerce in Washington on June 28 (local time). The event was attended by President Moon Jae-in, 52 members of the Korean Economic Delegation and 170 representatives of the US political and business worlds.

CJ to invest US$1 Billion in new facilities and businesses in U.S.

CJ will invest US$1.05 billion in building new facilities and expanding businesses in the United States for the next five years. The amount includes investment in building new factories for its processed foods making unit CJ Cheiljedang Corp. and logistics bases for CJ Korea Express Corp., according to the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI). The conglomerate also plans to invest in film production in the U.S.

KCON brings K-pop to N.J.

“We love being back at the Prudential Center for a third year, and continue to grow — in fact, KCON has tripled its footprint this year,” says Pious Jung, CEO of CJ America, which oversees CJ E&M in North America, the producers of KCON. “The dancing and music and beauty products are all back,” Jung says. “And this year Korean food will play a huge part at the festival, with an emphasis on panels on how to use Korean flavors in everyday cooking.”
